How it works

They prove it when they buy. You know before they arrive.

Protect Events sits in the signup or the ticket purchase. About two minutes of capture. A session lasts 24 hours. Three attempts. The result is on the record before the event.

On your site

Part of signing up.

A guest list, a membership, or an event page can ask for the check before the place is confirmed. Under-age signups are declined then, not discovered on the day.

At checkout

Part of buying the ticket.

Create a verification session with your own reference and the minimum age for that ticket. Send the guest the link. A signed webhook tells your system when the status changes, including when a case is waiting in the review pipeline you manage.

Guest flow

What they actually do.

  1. 1

    They open the link

It arrives with the signup or the ticket. They do it on their own phone, before the day of the event. Desktop cameras stay out of it.

  2. 2

    A guided face capture

Even light, no sunglasses. A short recording as they follow the prompts, so the check is of the person who will attend.

  3. 3

    Passport or driving licence

United Kingdom, Ireland or the United States. Passports use the photo page. Licences use the front and the back.

  4. 4

They hold it beside their face

The last photo shows the same document is in their hand, photo side toward the camera.

  5. 5

    They see the outcome

Verified, or a clear reason to retry a step. Under age, an expired document, or a face that does not match are declines. Awkward documents wait in the review pipeline you manage.

The decision

Three outcomes. Your team manages the review pipeline.

Approved

The date of birth meets the minimum age for that event, the document is in date, and the capture checks passed. They are pre-vetted before they arrive.

Declined

Under the age you set, expired, unreadable, or the face and document do not belong together. Some declines can be retried. Under age cannot.

Needs review

Layout, print pattern or possible tampering was flagged. It waits in your review pipeline. Your team decides. Nothing awkward is approved on its own.

Protect Events reads the document in the camera. It does not call the passport office or DVLA. Your licensing conditions still belong to you. The UK licensing page sets out how a pre-arrival check fits those guidelines, and where it does not replace them.
